Overstaying in Thailand: Important Information

Overstaying occurs when a foreigner resides in Thailand beyond the permitted duration specified by their visa and entry stamp.

If you accumulate a significant overstay record and voluntarily report to authorities, you may be required to appear before a judge in court. It's crucial to note that this process also entails overstay fines.

*It is the responsibility of foreigners to regularly check and ensure compliance with their permitted stay period.

In cases of prolonged overstay, individuals could be detained at the Immigration Detention Center until they arrange a direct flight back to their home country.

A small fee is typically required for immigration officers to escort you to the airport, guide you through Immigration, stamp your passport with a blacklist mark, and accompany you to the gate. Your passport will be handed to cabin crew on the flight and returned upon arrival in your home country.

Members with a Privilege Entry (PE) Visa will be granted a 1-year extension with each application.

Consequences of Overstaying

Repeated violations of overstaying carry serious consequences. If you have multiple overstays, your passport may be stamped, declaring you in violation of Thailand's immigration laws and regulations. This stamp categorizes you as an "undesirable alien," potentially complicating travel and entry to other countries.

FAQ

Memberships package

Should I check the arrival stamp when I enter to Thailand?

Answer: Please check arrival stamp every time. Immigration will put the entry stamp from the following details

Special Entry Visa (SE) green sticker allows 90 days per entry.

Privilege Entry Visa (PE) gold sticker allows 1 year per entry.

If an incorrect stamp is placed on your passport, please notify either immigration bureau or our EPA (Elite Personal Assistance) immediately before departing the airport. Failing to address this issue may necessitate a return to the airport to rectify the stamp with immigration. Although this process can be time-consuming and inconvenient, it's mandatory to resolve it before the expiration of the stay permission stamped in your passport. Otherwise, it could result in an overstay record being recorded against you.
