Staying in Thailand for a period longer than 90consecutive days, a member is required to report himself at the immigration office located in the member’s residence area. Failure to file 90-day report can result in a fine of THB2,000. The member can file this report within 15 days before or 7 days after 90-day period expires.
A member who wishes to extend their stay permission can apply for stay extension at the provincial immigration office located in the member’s residence area. The imigration officer shall extend the stay permission according to the member’s visa. The fee is THB1,900 and it is possible to apply for an extension 30 days in advance.
Overstaying is when a foreigner lives in Thailand for a period exceeding the length of time they are permitted to stay, according to their visa and entry stamp.
